discussion How to fix/overcome this game error

I really enjoy the japanese port games, for whatever reason. Lately though, I've been getting error messages on random samples of these games when I download them, such as NTR Homestay and Moans of the Wife through the Walls 3.

"The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_42.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." (reinstalling did not fix the problem.)

Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it? I persists through file downloads of multiple portals.

my pleasure, the hint was in the filename I've seen before, it's part of the DirectX 9 runtime files
