Personally always kept things to myself, and always found it really hard to talk about. Have a recent potential LI that was open about a few non-standard kinks so I shared a few as well...and actually so far so good lol. Some of them like "sleep sex" or my interest for ecchi & hentai with some of my girlfriends or friends without it going badly
but I don't think I'll give away all of my fetishes to someone one day from moment when it remains in the realm of fantasy for me I don't see the point

Good topic. I Have never shared all of my kinks with an SO, I've never even wanted to probably because I'm emotionally frigid and never truly connect with or fully trust anyone. I did once share quite a bit with a "friend", mostly because he shared first so it felt safe and I was genuinely curious about what it might feel like to say out loud. It felt fine I suppose, it wasn't like some great weight being lifted off of me or anything because my kinks are but a tiny fraction of the aspects of my person that I hide away from others. Ultimately while we were very similar and I mostly enjoyed being around him, he also brought out very dangerous tendencies in me, it was a fascinating effect as I've never experienced the like before or since. I ultimately had to excise him from my life because I made some exhilarating and sexy, but possibly career damaging sexual choices, not his fault but it was difficult for me to regulate those impulses around him. Anyway it wasn't exactly a disaster and I learned some very strange things about myself, but I've never shared that many of my kinks with anyone else.

As to the question earlier about kink and Christianity... Frequently people who grow up in a repressed atmosphere end up being the most deviant of us all, sometimes out of rebellion, and sometimes just because they can't express or act on their real interests, and it just keeps building and building. The old jokes about the Preacher's Daughters being the kinkiest do have at least some basis in fact
