FIRSTLY, THIS THREAD IS NOT MEANT AS A WAY TO FIND A GROUP BUT TO DISCUSS YOUR DESIRES OR EXPERIENCES.
Have you experienced or been a part of a degen DnD campaign or one-shot? Have you already thought about it and know what you would play or what world you would create?

I've heard a lot about degen DnD groups, but 99% of them are furry stories. As a Dungeon Master for 5 years, I've built up a lot of experience, some being of the lewd type. I'd love to hear some of your experiences and maybe even nick some of them to improve my sessions.

So, I've had this idea for a magic item in D&D 5th Edition, but I'm not a DM and I don't know how viable it would be: if people would even like the concept. So, I figured I would ask for some thoughts on the item. The item would be called a cursed Ring of Power. As the name implies, it's a cursed item so it wouldn't be easily removable. The ring would allow the user to cast the Wish spell infinitely without the drawback of having a 33% chance to not be able to cast the spell ever again if you use it for anything other than a spell. But the catch is that if you use it to wish for anything that's already been wished for, the wish would activate/complete but then the wearer would immediately die (no save) and their soul would be consumed by the ring. Also, you must cast wish with the ring at least once a day while it is bound to you or the same thing will happen. I figure that for something that powerful it should take more than a 3rd level spell slot to remove it. I don't know. Is it unbalanced? I feel like the DM could balance it by setting certain wishes as "already wished" so that the players can't run away too quickly with it. The daily wishing requirement could be circumvented by doing things like wishing for an ever increasing amount of grains of sand/salt each day, but the player would still need to be cognizant of the wish/day requirement. To make it so that it isn't a landmine, though, the user would instinctively know if a particular wish has already been made, so they're fully aware they will die if they want to make a duplicate wish (to save the rest of the party). I don't know, what do y'all think?

I would say its unbalanced because the party wouldn't have an idea how many other wishes have been used in the past. Could just instakill someone for asking the wrong wish

That's why I added that bit at the end about how the user would know if a wish has been used before they fully commit to the wish. Out of character, the DM could just hand the user a list of wishes that would be "already used" in order to rein in some of the more difficult-to-account-for wishes.

Or are you referring to the fact that the players may not even understand that wishing for the same thing twice even if they are made aware of the fact that a particular wish has already been made?

Nah I don't think it's a good idea. The wearer could just wish for mundane things like "I wish for a piece of sand" to get rid of the requirement to use it once a day.

Also remove the "you die if you make the same wish" and make it a 50% chance to fail and do some damage when they fail on the wish. You don't have to kill the user out right.

Then the DM could increase/decrease the chance of failing depending on the wish the user is trying to make.

The curse thing is a nice touch, just make it so it just can't be dispelled by something like "Remove Curse". You can still keep the infinite wishing / wish at least once a day.

Maybe just throw in a bit of wild magic for lols since this magic tool is pretty powerful for a PC.

I prefer to balance items with a direct and easy to understand drawback. I am all about giving crazy shit to my players, but power at a cost. The having to wish for a thing every day does not add anything interesting to gameplay, and really would just distract from the flow of the game.

Cursed King's Ring of Power: Required attunement until curse is active. If 5e, or count as magic item for other D20 games. Once curse active no longer attuned. Identify reveals it is a ring of protection plus 2 and the wish spell was used in creation. No other info as part of the wish spell that created it.
Grants +2 deflection bonus to AC as a ring of protection.
While wearing this ring you may cast
Each time you cast wish the ring removes 2 constitution as damage. This may only be restored once the ring is removed and returns at 1 point per month.
The ring can be taken on and off freely until you cast your first wish, then you may not take the ring off under any circumstance. Nothing short of wish can remove the ring or If you do remove the ring by cutting your finger off it takes a tole of 2 constitution as its price. (Regeneration + cutting finger off is the smart play.)
If you reach 0 constitution you become a NPC wight that appears human without the use of spells. . Your orginal Con becomes your CHA score if lower. (Could be an interesting plot hook on the ring here. The old ring bearers existing and having some reason to interact with you / the ring.) Set and setting for the DM to figure out how to use this part.

One idea I had for it was as a ring that the BBEG uses. In order to keep it out of the hands of players. Kind of like making him a Sauron clone or something.

Another ring idea I had was making a cursed ring of mind shielding. The reason being that the normal ring already has an effect that if you die with the ring on, your soul gets absorbed into the ring. Except, for story purposes, the ring already has someone inside of it: a very powerful wizard who has seen the end of the world. And since they're trapped in there, they want to task you with saving the world. The ring would drop from the first boss, who, during the fight will randomly scream out to "SHUT UP!" and stuff. When a player attunes to the ring, they get the normal mind shielding effect of the ring, but if they agree to help the trapped wizard, then, as the player progresses, the wizard can give you benefits. For example, early on, spellcasters would get an additional level 1 spell slot. For non-casters, they would get to cast a level 1 wizard spell once per long rest (spell save DC: 15).

The major story point is that the wizard is actually a secret BBEG. You see, he has seen the end of the world which would be caused by these alien godlike entities that come over into the players' world/plane. So, the wizard secretly tasks you with aiding the aliens and help them reach the planet faster because he believes that the only way for the world to be spared is if they welcome their alien overlords. If the people of the planet rise up and fight, most everyone will die due to the devastation caused. The ring would be treated like an artifact because it's a major plot point so even if the player sells the ring or leaves it alone, someone else will pick it up and try to unknowingly bring about the end of the world. My idea is that the wizard doesn't believe himself to be evil; he believes he is saving the planet. I don't know. This has kind of gone off on a tangent. This was basically my idea for a plot hook for a campaign if I ever managed to make one. I have an idea for the layout for the first dungeon. I also have an idea of trying to use various traps from tv shows and comics. Like that one hallway from Order of the Stick, or the cabin from Hilda. Buuut, I tend to start ideas and never finish them.

Lore wise mystra would have a major issue and smite the hell out of people

I've never been in a dnd group but I'd love to read your stories

I'll start it off with one of mine.

Firstly, I'd like to say that for all of the people who get thirsty or straight-up lewd in these erotic sessions, 80% of the horniest people I've ever experienced are girls between 18 and 21. They always ask for a monster world and want all the NPC's to either be massive beasts like dragons, or dominant male leads like that . I have to admit I have a deeper posh voice so it might help a bit. These sessions always start a bit awkward for them as they are undoubtedly shy, but it only takes one of them to fully be invested and forceful and it's a full-blown nightmare. I'm a pretty big degen (considering I'm on this site) but they'll make the characters do things I could not even imagine.
Later on, when people post more of their stories, I'll throw a few specific stories I'm holding onto

What types of specifically degen dnd moments do you fantasise about?

Just when I things were weird with the granny game that just came out. :ROFLMAO:

I look forward to hearing the stories! Thanks in advance. 🙏

I don't have fantasies myself. But very curious as to what happens out there. My first guess would be a bunch of guys going in pillaging and raping a bunch of villagers or gang banging some lone female traveler, elf, whatever. The thought of horny girls playing didn't even occur to me, nor the idea of furries being drawn to the game. But not surprised.... :ROFLMAO:

same with @odspyykt , In fact, if someone you least expected turned out to be more degenerate than you thought, I would actually like to hear about her and that story

Ah ok, I'll throw a story related to this. Firstly, I find it hard to be friends with guys tbf, while I can vibe with girls more easily so this means most things I do are centred around a bunch of girls.

Regarding the least expected degen girl hmmm... Well, there was one person who had the whole cute personality, a classic dainty flower girl and did not know her too much but she's a friend of a friend type invited to the DnD session. The first session was a complete dud, she tried but way too awkward for her. Before the second session, she messaged me and asked if I could add more "cute" characters (Pokémon pictures she sent as a reference, a cute blue thing with a beak(I don't play the game so no idea what it is)).

For the next session, long story short, she babied these little creatures, stuff like cradling, breastfeeding and relieving them. Never the best descriptor but we all understood. Not my cup of tea but fun to watch!

I played D&D once

I asked a question about my characters abilities
This lead to a discussion about realism
This lead to a discussion about the DMs game style
This lead to a discussion about who was sleeping with whom

Overall, two couples broke up, and my friend needed to find a new group

With all these fantasies, before anyone started (even though they were all my friends already) I still had the conversation about how this was all fantasy and you can do anything that your creative mind wonders. Only had one couple in a session but it was a PG campaign. I only really let people I'm comfortable with or the friends I trust their judgement when inviting others for the more erotic sessions.

Is there any ideas you'd like to put on the table relating to the initial post?

I've played some uber-fucked DnD games in the past, like some X-rated shit. We did one 3.5 campaign that included both the Book of Vile Darkness and the Book of Erotic Fantasy. It was DARK!!

Never heard of these books! Always been a Homebrew DM. What was one of your favourite moments in the sessions
