Just wondering how much a games cover art persuades you into checking it out. I feel a game that has really good cover art has a better chance of catching the attention of people, but I'm sure there are a lot of gems being missed out because of this.
Very little to none. Now I like nice pics to look at but it's not required at all. I wait til 4th release before I'll pick up a VN. Ratings are everything at that point.
100% influences checking it out. There have been a fair number of games I skipped over for a long time due to poor cover art/previews and then later tried and enjoyed. Though there are certainly plenty that were still terrible on the try.
There are so many games available these days, I really think it's essential to at least try to come up with a half-decent cover photo or else you could lose out on so much interest from people not even giving your game a chance
Nice cover and of course the name are very important. Good games may not get the deserved attention if they won't catch your eye when scrolling... My opinion
Yeah not gonna lie it definitely changes how quickly I'm going to notice it, and there are definitely some thumbnails that could use more inspiration out there
First, the art catches my eye, then I read the title. If I can infer enough from both of those to keep moving on, I will. Otherwise, I will go deeper to see what its about, how other people like it, etc.
I feel like tags and screenshots are a bit more what I look at rather than the cover arts. Especially after taking a chance on midlife crisis with that cover...
Ah, thats a good point. The "cover art" to me, I guess would include the mouseover screenshots as well, since that's how I myself checked out Midlife Crisis.
Well i´m from a time where the cover art was the only thing you have to decide what game to get so yeah, i check games based on the cover art but now i also check the tags and screenshots to confirm what to download.

I don't check tags at all, i liked the arts/previews i download it, i might check some porn gameplay/walkthrough videos if it has any, sadly there are no hentai walkthrough anywhere, i'd love to watch it, fuck censored woke pornhub and youtube
