Change default sorting from "first message" to "most recent message"

So I'm viewing the games forum and the default is set to "first message", meaning the first reply to a thread and I'd prefer it to be set to "most recent post"/"last message". I can change this when I view the forum but is there a way for me to change the default so it just automatically sorts by the newest post?

i will look into this when i have time to, may just try to set sitewide.

Thank you very much. It's a minor annoyance but it seems odd that it's not an option.
