Hello everyone,

Just restarted Farscape, my favourite sci-fi show, I'd recommend to anyone who loves blends of sci-fi with fantasy elements. The world building and humour is awesome, and character arcs are well-crafted without relying on unnecessary drama.

Would love to hear from others who enjoy the series. Also, if you've come across other series that strike a similar balance, outside of the star wars universe, I’d appreciate your suggestions ;)

I would like to give it a shot. I do enjoy sci-fi films, but I've only watched Firefly, Cowboy Bebop, and The Expanse when it comes to TV.

I have loved all those, you should try Battlestar Galactica if you liked those, Star Trek is also great fun

Love it, Claudia Black is one of my favorites as Aeryn. I also love how John is named for John Carter Warlord of Mars, and the author Michael Crichton.

I think I finished the first season and thought it was great. Just lost the time to finish the series. This reminds me I should try to find it again keep watching!

I've only ever heard great things about the show but I can't get past the muppets. :(

I prefer Stargate. Farscape got too weird too fast for me. You know that scifi/urban fantasy trope where a character wakes up in their old life and everyone acts like the events of the show never happened? Usually that's a trope that shows up in season 4 or 5 of a show when writers are running out of ideas. Farscape has at least 3 of them before the end of season 2, and even the characters are sick of dealing with it.

Frell, yes! Farscape was awesome. Great characters. Great humor, and they balanced the humor and drama without it feeling awkward.

I watched the series when it firsted air. Then later on laughed when Claudia and Ben showed up on SG1.

Moya and Talon are still some of my favorite ship concepts. Pilot was the best character though.

It is one of my favorite tv shows and Claudia Black was so hot in it.

the designs were pretty damn neat.
the makeup/prosthetics/wardrobe/etc were amazing.
Pilot was so cool.
And of coarse the amazing Claudia Black with her sultry voice.

This was a pretty fun show. Maybe a little bit much for some people and in never did as well as you would think it should have, but still a great entry into the '90's sci-fi television show genre (there were a lot of them).

never got into it :( will check it out

If you like Sci-Fi, I'd definitely recommend watching FarScape. They did great things with a limited budget and (contrary to a lot of newer series) they actually finished their storyline.
I've gotten fed up with all those cancelled series that start a storyline but never finish it because the show gets cancelled. It is like reading a book where the last couple of chapters have been ripped out.
