I want to start with appreciation for the forum creators and moderators and content providers. I am thankful of you and all your hard work.

I understand the need for vetting members in order to inhibit busybody opinionated idiots from complaining and selfishly ruining it for everyone else.

I don't agree with forcing people to interact in order to do it though. It wont stop the people that cant mind their own business, in fact, those people will be the most motivated to do what it takes so they can be in the place they need to in order to make their complaints.

Instead, I propose.... a quiz, a questionnaire, Ask questions relevant to the game section that is under scrutiny, questions that will clearly point out the people who don't play the games, if they cant answer simple questions about the games then they haven't played them and therefore or more likely to be the people that are complaining.

i understand the need for some type of vetting

If the games are behind members + and somebody knew was simply looking for games with 'questionable' content then they may not be able to answer specific questions. Alternatively people looking to report content could create multiple accounts with dummy emails until they get the questions correct and then bot the answers and there goes any protection.
-
With the current system a bot would most likely be noticed spamming and could be removed, plus it takes more engagement than a 1 time questionnaire to actually get the participation required to access the restricted section.
-
People are really making more out of it than it needs to be. There's several topics that are basically spam that people can post in and get it in a night. The time you'd spend answering questions you can spend making posts in those topics if you want access to members+ games. Nobody is forcing anybody to access the members+ section anyway.

Most of the self-righteous twitter users that seek out this sort of content to report are very hypocritical and will likely enjoy posting in these threads and consuming the content until collecting the required coins, and then report it anyways.

here is a problem with ANY user side system, if user can pass it - rat can pass it, that is it, full stop
it doesn't matter what system you'll pile up here - coins, tokens, questions, likes, posts, who cares... as long as it user sided - it's useless and just hinder users
solution should be server sided, reporting just shouldn't matter at all - host don't just pull the plug without investigation the moment anyone reported something, all allowed/not allowed content is clearly defined by the host and all content on the site is 100% legal (for the host) without any grey areas
then as long there are no actual [not_allowed] content here - you can report the rest how much you want, it wouldn't do a jack shit

You may not be able to stop it entirely, but you can at the very least stem the tide and that's what really matters here.

Well he has a point any system or security taken can be overcome. The point though is just to slow them
down and make it harder. I still say it was probably some asshat user of another forum who hates this site.

I can't even figure out what to do to get my access back. Been here forever and have no clue what to do as I am not exactly savvy with this type of shit, nor do I have a buttload of time to grind and now there is a limit to reacting on posts. I read extremely fast so I have to wait 160 seconds to like a second comment I've read? This is a bit ridiculous...Now, since people can purchase coins, and many are, why bother with the donation drives that seem awful shady as it is. . .

You buy it in the store for 550 coins, but I was informed that there is a sale each week so wait for that then buy at a discount.

There's already an alternative.

Make a person write a full paragraph on answering "What is your favorite game in the sinner's section and why?"
or even better...
Make it seem like you are thinking about getting rid of the sinners section altogether and ask "Should we have a sinners section in this forum" Anyone that answers yes, let them in and if they answer no, don't.
problem solved

But what if they lie?

  • I'm not happy but I'm still going to shitpost in the forums.

Is a lesser evil to protect the content from being reported i guess
