So this whole thing got started due to someone misreporting a game as real life CA.
This was cleared up, and in an attempt to stiffle such problems in the future we now have a system where only active members of the community will take part in LC-parts of the community.
On the surface this seems like a fine sollution given that things stay the same. However, we now have a smaller public space for this type of content which will invariably meen that the networking effects will become stronger on the locked part of the site. This in turn could lead to a feedback loop where certain members will push limits. And as the only people who will see these infractions are also of dedicated, some would say driven, members, they might not push back.
The danger in such echo chambers lie in that you don't always recognize your own boundaries shifting. And when dealing with content of the nature we're dealing with, one could easily imagine such an echo chamber to become a radicalization chamber.
Over time this would invariably draw the attention of law enforcement, and rightfully so. So while I recognize the trouble keeping an open section of such content would bring, I wonder if the current solution might not be creating much bigger issues at a later time...
