A decent coherent story is key. I can suspend my disbelief¸ but only up to a point. Sometimes I can forgive a game for horseshit story choices if it otherwise ticks a lot of boxes for me, but mostly I prefer games that make some sort of sense. Choices should be meaningful, or not included at...
I'm going to go with Man of the House. It's a classic of the genre in my opinion, and one of the few games that does corruption right in a believable fashion.
If I'm playing a VN that doesn't have music, I usually put on some EDM or some instrumental metal, I'm not going to be paying attention to lyrics so it's just easier if there aren't a lot of them.
I can take or leave animations. Most of them are mediocre at best, and when that's the case, I find they detract from my enjoyment more than anything. But it's entirely possible I'm just a grumpy old man on this issue.
Yeah, and it's not like that sort of logic would ever be ripe for abuse or anything, of course.
(I feel like the /s is heavily implied here, but for insurance, there it is)
For me, the 16 bit generation will always be defined by Cool Spot. A silly 2D platformer that's essentially one long commercial for a soft drink? Yes please!
That game had some great mechanics, though. One of the best platformers of its age, up until Mario64 really. That said, I mostly played on...
I think people tend to fixate too much on the first letter in the abbreviation and ignore the 3 remaining ones. I honestly don't care if there's a G, an M, or any other letter in front, as long as it ends with ILF.
I believe Wikipedia has an article with lists of exactly which jurisdictions outlaw art depicting minors in sexual or otherwise compromising situations. It's also interesting that while movies and photography can sometimes be granted more leeway because they are "art", games are given no such...
Pregnancy is my favorite as well. I'm guessing the reason not to have progression is that this would require actually changing an existing model (for those doing 3d renders) which apparently is more trouble than most consider it worth.
I wish some would still do it, though.
I'm both a giant metalhead and addicted to EDM, especially things like Skrillex and The Glitch Mob. With that in mind, my guilty pleasure is Die Prinzen, a German language satirical pop band. So many damn bangers!
I haven't really been paying attention to the Eurovision in recent years, my home country gets regularly trounced anyway and I have way more relevant (to me) things to worry about. Like the ongoing struggle to reach 750 LC.
If I play as a gay character, it's because I'm playing as a female character. I can roleplay either gender, but I can't pretend to be attracted to (at least most) men. And especially not the men that show up in gay sex games.
I'm not normally a fan of sandboxes, but at least these girls are cute, and there are few enough repeat scenes that it's manageable. I do like how much variety in the LIs is in this one.
