Personally, when I find myself in the state you’re describing and I have enough perspective to realize it, I’ve noticed that listening to intellectual film critique podcasts helps me.

I agree with your whole list, and I only find a game interesting if the progression system is solid or if the character design really stands out.
But the first time I played a game that checked all those boxes… damn, I thought it was amazing!
Same, I never clicked on the game to see what it was about. I always figured the story must be well put together because otherwise, I don’t see the point.
A kind of pocket pussy or a Fleshlight. The ad was promising, but no—totally useless. Plus, now I keep getting ads and suggestions... I wouldn’t recommend it.
It depends on the game, but yes, I get bored with visual novels. I prefer games where you are immediately immersed and it's up to you to figure things out.
