It seems like a first or third person narrator would work better for this. Since the protagonist is already familiar with the other characters and world and has relationships with them it's awkward to have read that "you think xyz" when I the reader have none of the thoughts the protagonist does.
I prefer Koikatsu and HS to Daz, I guess the more stylized visuals make the characters more interesting and I can count on one hand the number of Daz games with good animations.
