There's limitless possibilities with DC/Marvel to do different genres. It'd be great to have a good Star Wars game, but I every serious developer is probably afraid of legal action from Disney.
Models primarily. For most games anything besides Ren-Py will turn people off completely. In the long term the game needs a stable amount of updated content for each character, which is why these games with 10 different LIs always fizzle out.
For H-Games I judge it just like anything made in DAZ or Honey Select. I really don't see the difference, it's not like that stuff is hand drawn either. They're just selecting models and posing them/doing lighting manually instead of in a text prompt.
Take Over has a cool story concept of taking place in Soviet Russia and leading a revolution where you turn everyone into a slut and has a lot of scenes/kinks, but way too many characters and derelict gameplay systems that have built up over the years (Something Unlimited has this problem too)...
