Depends on what you consider "aligning". I like MCs that are my gender(male) and having some relatability can be a bonus, but if the MC were too much like me then the game would be very boring .
I think mind control would be the easy choice here, but I would be terrified for the world if I had that power. So I think I would pick mind reading or time reversal for something relatively more moral.
-Time limits that can cause you to miss scenes on sandbox/open games.
-The MC having absolutely no agency at all.
-The MC having endless inner monologues of yapping.
The ones that are eternally in my mind are the Castlevania and Megaman series. Especially from the SNES and PS1 eras. For something more recent to enter the hall of fame I would put in BG3 and Nier Automata.
Definitely. Most devs morph the models enough so it doesn't become a issue but it's quite easy to tell when someone is being too lazy. Though I can't entirely fault them since there are only so many base models available I think. It is honestly surprising that in maybe half a decade playing DAZ...
