They're visual novels, but they're puzzle escape room games, not murder mystery. I dunno how well they'd run on PCs, but I do know there's PC ports of the DS and 3DS Zero Escape Games, 9 Persons 9 Hours 9 Doors and Virtues Last Reward. Both great game. They're probably listed together as Zero Escape: The Nonary Games, and definitely a solid story- Oberon
