Sure you can prevent most of it. I would say exactly as much for the story to make sense. ;) Your initial girlfriend will still cheat on you 🤬, that's basically essential for the story, but almost all of the other stuff you can prevent.- jeanbaklazan

You probably played it for the first time? I liked the game a lot first time too. But then in two years reworks happened, some lewd stuff even got removed... so I can't share your enthusiasm now.
