It's almost always either that, or the variable changes again in the code after you make the change. If you want to troubleshoot it in more detail, DM me with the game name, where you were making the change, and what change you were making, and I can poke through the game code to figure out why.- Tiur

If you change values, you are making variable changes to the current state of the game's variables. If you roll back after making changes, those changes are immediately undone since the game is rolling back to a previous state and the variables that went along with that previous state.
