    Great point! My first game was Katawa Shoujo and I loved the way they used the piano music and sound effects. Even the clichee japanese cicada sounds. It really emphasized everything that was going on and pronounced the mood.

    Usually the first thing in the settings is to drag down all the sound sliders to about 30-40%. Some games have music that seems entirely unfitting or added in through some walkthrough mod that thought to add their generic shit music was a great idea. Those cases I mute without hesitation.
