I played an incest-themed game once (can't recall the title now), with a good sister and two absolutely gorgeous sisters but also an incredibly hideous, repulsive (to me) mother.
Other than than I usually go for the harem -- if I play the game at all that means it's at least somewhat appealing :)
Oh well, some games are absolutely terrible and if they have good eyecandy...I might decide to at least review the content ;)
But sometimes writing is quite great (case in point: You must be registered for see element.) so no, and I'm enjoying it a lot.

Sometimes I find a game with a character that's particularly appealing (or others are unappealing but the game is too good to skip), so I really like a chance to not mess with my chances to see the whole path.
It's not like an unskippable minigame.
Great character on a great model can be a really exciting experience.
You get the right setup (ie sci-fi/modern/medieval, family/school/trip), interesting character(s) and good story.
On bad or mediocre models (which is the norm sadly), this is more like "meh", but still better than the average...
