Unreal Engine has to much garbage baked into the code framework and to build for MMO style Netcode would require heavily reworking the engine framework and runtimes.
For me it's easier building it from the ground up.

I usually run deduplication on assets wherever I can especially for Steam Related Game and/or Repacks.
