I'm not sure what you mean by "fantasy elements", but take a look at the Discworld series.
It's not the same type of fantasy as Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones, has more humor and is a lighter read.
I do enjoy reading a lot, but I've voted for gaming because I probably do that a little bit more. Plus gaming also takes me away to new worlds and stories

For me, 80-90 % of hotness comes from the writing, so if you have bad graphics and no animations but amazing writing, I'd still enjoy it a lot
I'm not a huge fan of the coin system myself, but the reality is that it takes money to run a site. I think that there is simply no perfect solution for the problem(s)
I don't think it's reasonable to expect people to only contribute new/useful things. While the coin system encourages interactions, it also favors quantity over quality.
