It's just speculation on my part but I guess that the dev does need to choose one canon path, especially with different intertwined games like Blackheart does, And given that Blackheart more or less specializes in dark content, it makes sense that they do choose the dark path as the canon one. -

It might be that the very-abusive path is the canon one and the less-abusive path would hypthetically have resulted in a different Sherry. Like the Darla abuse path in TG is the canon path in TLG, as opposed to the healing path in TG where you treat Darla the same as your daughters. -

I don't know about SSP being believable. This one (DD) is really dark, even on the "non-abuse" path. It's too abusive for my taste really. I would have liked an even less abusive path, but it's not that kind of game. But if you think actual IRL loli sex can be light and positive (for the loli)... -
