I didn't. I just tried to load a save and it wouldn't work. Took me back to Start. So i just exited the game. Edit: Okay, so I went back and started from the beginning. I did find lots of new content. Cool. -

You can maneuver the ship forward and back and turn it left and right. You can also click on a distant point and the ship will head there. You can hit reverse to slow down. I managed it by just not letting the ship ever get to full speed. -
