I am also not a native, what I recommend is to do the whole Duolingo course, and get in contact with the language as much as you can from books to movies, YouTubers and etc, the Duolingo helps a lot because it has a lot of pre-made texts and audio for you, so it helps when you are starting until... -
Restart from scratch or from a save?
I go from the update if the game is too big, and every couple of updates I play the whole game, if the game is small I always play everything again -

I don't think it's a good idea to do that, you can very easily drop something on your PC (especially if it's liquid) and break something. -
