- they're interested in the game

It's not a scam, since they're not monetizing its development at all.
They've been very honest about the delays, which have mostly been down to slow progress with the art and them learning unity.
Their other game makes steady progress, because it has a different artist, but the same problems...
as I understand it, there will no longer be public versions. all updates are for subs only.

yes the dev made old subscriber saves literally 'pirate!' and thus broken.
you can fix this by:
- go to You must be registered for see element.
- upload your save, found in Appdata/Roaming/RenPy/LivingTogether
- search for 'subscriber' and change all found values to 0.
- download the modified...
