In an Ideal world yes, but if your just going to have one or two generic tracks play throughout that do not always fit the tone of the scene than its not really worth the effort imo
As long as the graphics do a good job at servicing the plot I can live with it

Most the time in VN's its a pass or fail check that does not alter the game in any meaningful way but instead just skips chunks of it, in those cases I wont even try and play without one as I have little desire to fast forward though a title a second time just to see the missing bits that where...
Depends on the Animations, sometimes they end up so stiff and lifeless that it distracts from the imagery rather than add to it.
While I do prefer animation, I rather it not just be put in because a dev thought it was necessary without the proper care to see its done correctly.
For me its the unique aspect of it, its not copy paste premade assets you find all over the place, It might be a bit janky in some respect but it has its own charm because of it.
