Most the time you can adjust it so its no big deal, it is also nice to have when reading from a distance.
what I do not like are ones that large graphic for a text box that eat away at half the screen.
Don't like them, they tend to fall into two camps.
Useless clickable that distract from the game as your constantly thinking about if there could be one on this screen during every transition
Near Mandatory scavenger hunt that does nothing but lock away content if your not hyper vigilant about...
as long as the art style is consistent and does not give off massive uncanny valley when going the realistic route any is good with me.
Nothing turns me away faster than breast bigger than there torso on 'realistic' Daz3D Model.
Any is fine with me isnt really going to make or break things for me. While I do pref a gallery just so I have indication of what scenes I need to get its a small thing is far down my list of what makes a title worth playing.
When trying to get missing scenes filled out in the gallery after playing though it already, or if I lost a save or an update requires a fresh save.
If I feel the need to do it before that the title is clearly not good enough to hold my attention and I just delete and make a notation on the...
I Keep the folder and delete the data, add a note to it:
(W) Gamename
(A) Gamename
(C) Gamename
Letters are waiting for update, Abandoned and Completed, So I can start at the oldest in work my way up when searching if a title has been updated.
There is no real rule for me, Can play though a whole 8+ hour title with only one scene and be fine with it as long as its narrative interesting
If title is just a sandbox grindfest just to get to the next lewd on the other hand im out.
Not really run into any worth playing, they tend to be optimized messes with clunky interfaces that require more than one hand.
The big issue in the end is to make a good 3D Game you need not only a good deal of experience with the tools at hand but time and a team to lesson the load.
When you...
If its near 1 to 1 on the MC or main love interest than its a large red flag, while not an Auto send to the recycle bin it will have to pull a lot of weight in other areas to make up for it (They hardly do)
I'll go through binge streaks, than go a few weeks without, as far as my library until the newer PC and wiping the old drive to re-use I was sitting at over 250 Titles, at a measly 34 on the current.
Seems like a waste of time and effort to develop in a VN in my opinion when there is a far better alternative that every one should consider having, a reply gallery.
More than what should be considered healthy, few times a day I'll poke in and see what new in the feeds. Wont frequently obtain something new but once in a while a gem pops up adding to ever growing pile of titles im waiting for a few updates do drop (or watch as they frequently get abandoned)
I just want them to be interesting, weather I like or dislike there actions or background.
I pretty render can only get you so far at some point they have something that wants you to keep reading instead of fast forwarding to the naughty bits as generic MC Clone #179 Rails Generic girl #9726
In general there is not an application used in VNs that render body hair correctly, when someone takes care to edit it in post it can look good (Fitting for the char/scene) but that is frequently not the case and looks more like a grade school project gone wrong that ran out of Elmers half way...
When looking in a backlog of older titles I might have missed I tend to put a bit of weight into the ratings.
Most the time im looking in recent updates and ignore the ratings, and just read a few comments to make sure its not filled with Spanglish or Machine translation and give it a try. Can...
For known developers with History of good projects short 20-30min demos can do.
For new developers its important to hook people right from the start so the more you can squeeze and polish in the first release the better, people will unlikely come back if the first release is poorly translated...
