    Be true to the story you want to tell, do the stuff that makes you happy and inspires you to keep developing, the characters need to be well done (no cutting corners here), engage with the playerbase and finally, complete the game.

    3D is my preferred choice, but on the od occasion I've found myself drawn to a 2D game as well.
