I do sometimes enjoy these games but I never understood the transparent blue protagonist thing. If seeing a random dude who doesn't look like you is enough to ruin your self-insert then surely a giant ghostly smurf would have the same effect. -
Never really understood why devs make sandboxs, the concept is a failure yet they keep doing it.
I think the reason it's enticing for a dev to attempt making sandbox games is because when they actually work they work so well. Summertime Saga, Harem Hotel, Being a DIK, Desert Stalker, A House in the Rift, MIST etc. are all some of the most successful porn games ever. They probably fail so...- Geshtar

How big of a harem is too big?
Depends how much work the creator is willing to put in and how good of a writer they are. Dark Souls 1 takes the win for its map alone. No other game in the genre matched it in that one category. Complete Unity Lust Is Stranger - Version: [1.0] [The Architect]
It's almost criminal how relatively little the creator is making on these games. Architect has such a great record of consistent updates, quality content and actually finished games. Maybe that's it though? Maybe it's because they're actually games and not just glorified porn galleries or VNs.
