    Why refuse to play games not made with Renpy?

    I'll throw in one that wasn't mentioned here yet: Ren'py games are decompilable and give full stacktrace on exception. So, upon encountering something that annoys you greatly (or a bug) in Ren'py game - you can decompile, open the code and edit it. And, of course, that helps with modding as well.

    It is mostly taboo/perversion of it. Even the stuff that happens in "normal" porn would be unacceptable for me in real life - e.g. fucking someone else's wife is an unpleasant thought IRL, but is a great trope in porn. Loli stuff is the same, but turned up to 11.

    Half a year seems to be a norm - it turns update frequency into "once a year" and people easily recognize it as abandonment. On the other hand there should be some sort of tagging for increasingly small updates, where game is being stretched for years without an end in sight.

    That's gonna cost you a lot, while giving dubious benefits. "Visual Novel" = important parts are art ("visual") and writing ("novel"). If you decide to add them - make sure that you game has separate volume slider for "character voices".

    It is very limited in QoL features - It falls on the dev to implement good systems for player to interact with the game, and it is common for devs to ignore that.

    A lot of free roam games could benefit greatly from being switched to a simple VN. Extra dozen clicks of navigation between scenes rarely improves the game.
