    What are some games that surprised you with how good it was and it became one of your favorites?

    The Falling Reloaded, Summer's Gone, Leap of Faith, and How I Became the Bodyguard of the Saintess are all story rich. Unfortunately the former 2 seem to be abandoned, but are still a good read where they are at. Leap of Faith is completed.

    Agree with the rest, RPGM. I'm sure it has its place for something, but for horny VNs it absolutely kills the experience. Unity is my next in line, very good graphics and animations generally and it makes for a good full fledged game, but doesn't work well with the VN types.

    This. Get the story solidified before you start spending the time to code it into life, and starting the arduous task of making good visuals. Trying to wing the story while you code and give out updates to the readers often leads to a story with a weird flow or gaping holes in the story line...

    VN Ren'Py DAZ Nephilim [v0.6.5] [BuuPlays]

    This is one of the few games I've come across that actually has a well written story (both in terms of grammar and good story), plus top notch graphics. This has been in my top 5 games for quite some time. It's also nice that it actually gets updated frequently.
