How's it going folks? I picked up a few games yesterday since the Steam Spring Sale is still ongoing. Tried out Megabonk earlier today and it was quite enjoyable, although could certainly get repetitive if you're not into that type of game. Also played a good bit of Frostpunk the last couple days and actually finished the main scenario. Wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy it, but I'm glad I picked it up. The atmosphere is unmatched.

A lot of the games I'm waiting for are unreleased demos from a few nextfests, so I'm kinda chilling on the sales. Indie games are so peak right now and there are so many.

What is your opinion on Downloading paid games for free by being a pirate?

I've always pirated, unless it's an indie creator or developer I want to support. I started when I lived in a developing country and the internet was way worse so pirated CDs/DVDs and modchipped consoles were everywhere. Before gaming became an always-online social affair on digital storefronts, it was a bigger deal. However nowadays I feel the convenience of Steam, the prevalence of DLCs and people playing online games means people pirating single player games after they've been cracked is less important.

I'd be worried about Steam when I'm very old but as long as Gaben is alive it'll be one of the few billionaire monopolies I can fully get behind. Epic just laid off 1000 people and CEO and founder Tim Sweeney bragged on X that the market will "see the resumes of a stream of once-in-a-lifetime quality folks".

I view it as playing a 'demo' of a game, especially when a lot of games nowadays have no demos. I almost always end up eventually buying a game when I have the money if I like it.

Personally, I'm all in favor for piracy. I've pirated a shit-load of games, as well as other media. You'll catch me dead before I pay a subscription to something like Netflix or any number of networks just because they're the ones with some particular show or sporting event I wanna watch.
