But... that is what Germany wanted all along.
Steam didn't do this because it was too complicated and expensive to implement, so they reather cut off Europes largest gaming market than to do that.

All they needed to do is to extend this age verification to Germany and they'd get them back to buy stuff.
One could argue that the EU has stricter privacy protections laws, but the UK ones are not that different, so that shouldn't be a reason.

Yep sadly everyone in today's society loves to be stupid and poor accept everything i recently saw someone getting pulled over by a military hummer for speeding like it was iraq but nope it was in N.A b0 push back complaints.
On the subject of steam this is a horrific idea not only keeping a CC on all these accounts will make hackers attacking steam account's more but not everyone wants there CC on a a account let alone even have a working one hell they might just not have one at all. The you got the Credit card companies there going to be using these to purge more games.
They can say no CC no steam sense your using me to verify users so valve these are out terms go with it or we are leaving the platform fully.
Age verification is a stupid idea all around parents need to parent there fucking kids.

Nothing like a cop telling you the game you purchased is not allowed in your country do to section ____ Or the more common and will happen is a bill in the mail because your kid needs your credit card to continue to play the games they were playing and found the "cheat menu".
There is way to may fucking stories of kids putting thousands on a credit card buy pushing buttons on the mictotransaction wall.

This is what happens when people get used to "ease of use", "plug and play", adn whatever else they get fed through big tech. Absolute friggin idiots, from day1 when social media and platforms like steam started up i knew exactly how dangerous these platforms would be to both freedom of expression, free speech and ultimately anonymity of the users. So honestly , i have no sympathy for those now being fked by those same platforms.
The best weapon vs censorship is anonymity ..they cant censor you if they dont know who you are.
