discussion Latest Update page question

I've noticed a few games recently that were listed on the "latest update" page that were not actually updated. There was no change to the change log. The "latest update" date was not changed from the last update. There were no new comments.

I'm not trying to throw any shade at the site, mods, or developers, and I know the site is getting alot of updates, but is this a glitch or am I missing something? This has happened enough that I don't want to download each of these games just to verify, especially when there are no indications, aside from being on the latest updates page, that there was actually an update. Any thoughts?

Latest updates includes games that are new on LC, so basically they are a "latest update" to LC.
If you look at the url it even says "latest contents"

You must be registered to see attachments

Also the Latest Updates page is sorted by Last Mod Edit that is marked as such.

A mod has to do a "checkmark" for an edit to be count and showed as a "Last edited by a moderator". And this is what the sorting is based on.
If an old game on LC get's it page edited, because of a typo, new screnshot or whatever, the mod won't do the "checkmark" to prevent it from unnecessarily showing up in the LU. It's reserved for true updates.

I'll admit, I'm a little confused based on the last part of what you said, how its reserved for true updates and yet a mod doing a checkmark can still show up.

Regardless, its obvious there is a reason for it, and thats good enough for me. Also, Given the messages from the owner about the update page getting completely revamped, I don't think there a need to dive further into the rabbit hole, lol. Thank you for answering!

True updated in this context include new to the site, even if an older game. LC is still lacking many games, so if one pops up in the LU, but has the latest patch last year, that's one of those cases.
Also I have to add, that many of the older games aren't conforming fully with the LU sorting, any game older than winter 2024 can be shown wrong.

The way it is sorted (mod edit) won't change because of that.

Ahh this explains so much. I was kind of wondering why my game wasn't showing in last updated (or rather it is showing, but in April), but that's because I edited it myself and I'm obviously not a moderator.

I also fucked something up with the picture during editing, I think. At least it shows on this page: https://lewdcorner.com/forums/games.119/page-5, but it doesn't show in latest updates.

Would any mod be nice enough to set the checkmark? ^^
