At what age did you first do drugs?

Think that I had my first sip of alcohol before I was 10, and around the age of 16 started smoking weed, damn that hit different back then.

cigarettes - with 14 or 15.
beer - i have no fucking clue how old i was but i had a taste of it before i tried my first cig.
weed - 16 or maybe 17.
tried xtc 2 times - something between 20 - 22. shitty drug if you ask me. i sweated without even moving a finger and the vodka didnt hit anymore.
speed/cocain through the nose - first time somewhere in my mid 20s. funny feeling but too expensive and i have sleeping issues already without it.
smoked cocaine once - also somewhere in my mid 20s. the black out was so hart that i couldnt remember anything after putting down the bong.

I've never tried any drugs personally, other than alcohol and I don't even like that... having self control is easier than people make you believe

Most people I talk to are surprised I never touched anything illegal, even pot. I'll be turning 51 in January so unless I get some kind of pain that I'd get medical (which is legal where I live. Recreational is not but there is push to and almost every connected state even recreational is legal.)

If tobacco and alcohol count:
  • I had my first beer with 12, but it was only a small one and a controlled situation. It was a family event and my aunt let me try one. I hated the taste and so it was my last until 16.
  • A cigarette with 14. Wasn't my taste. And it was horror to get the smell out of my hair and clothes until my mother arrives at home.
I also had some weed one time in my 20's. But it also wasn't a good experience, so it was my last. Maybe my friend bought shitty weed or I'm just not the "weed guy". Never tried "harder drugs" and I never will.

Only drug I've ever used is alcohol, did that at 17 years of age. I still drink alcoholic beverages occasionally, but rarely if ever enough to have an intoxicating effect that is noticeable. I just like whisky.

For me I was 10 but didn't even know until later that the Dr. gave me a cocaine solution to numb my sinus so he could put a camera in there. But holy fuck did I feel great after that appointment. I did end up having 8 1/2 pounds of tumors and polyps removed from my sinuses a year later so that sucked. But woohoo more Dr Coke lol

As for recreational drugs, I think I had smoked pot before the cocaine and I had been stealing cigarettes from my mom since 8 I think. I finally quit 40 years later!! First time I ever got high with my dad was weird though. It was right after him and his new family had moved back to my state. I had ben fucking my new step-sister all night and at like 5am I snuck back out to the living room to crash. No more then 10 min later my Dad comes over and "wakes" me up saying Its Easter morning lets go have a sunrise service on the roof. And he waggles the bong in his hand as he is saying it. So yeah dad of the year lol
But my first acid trip was the most fun I ever had alone with my cloths on My brother went to get it said he would be back in 20 min. 4 hours later he gets back. Makes me sit there while he gives me a history lesson on acid. Finally he lets me drop the hit and tells me in like 30 min I will feel so good. 5 min later he passes out. 20 min later I am still not feeling anything try to wake up my bro but he is drunk and high so I give up on him. 20 min after that I come to the conclusion he just took my money and got shit for himself and had me swallow a piece of paper he wiped his ass with or something.
Then I notice how I can see the sound of my brothers snores. I wonder when the NCAA logo in neon lights got on the wall. (I hate watching sports and at the time had no Idea what NCAA was) But I come to the conclusion that I am perfectly sober and need a snack from downstairs. I grabbed my boombox with the wall by Pink Floyd in the tape deck. went to the kitchen and made a HUGE mess then went into the backyard and proceeded to jump doing flips on my 8" X 12" trampoline and watching the music come out of the speakers for like the next 7 hours. Thinking I was sober until I actually started to become sober then I was like oh wow. ..... Right you can't see sounds......
never

Nah. It just lowers your standards. It doesn't make dog food five stars. It just makes you willing to eat dog food.
Well I never tried eating crap food when stoned. All I know is delicious food tastes 10 times better

Oh trust me - you can get addicted. Know plenty of people who were addicted, including myself.
Sorry to hear that. I guess it isn't a guarantee like cigarettes coz I used to smoke weed almost every day over the last decade. Definitely once a week. I stopped a few months ago because I didn't want it to make me crave a cigarette since I quit smoking. Wasn't too hard to stop cigs thanks to vapes and gradually lowering the nicotine content to zero. But I've never had any cravings for weed or trouble stopping like with cigs regardless of how often I smoked. It could just be a far lower chance of getting addicted than with other substances

Tried weed when i was like 17 or so and absolutely hated so never touched it since. Smoked cigarettes quite regularly when drunk back in my uni days but fortunately never enough to the point I got hooked.

Maybe it's just my generation, but I don't really count tobacco and alcohol, but since the children are here: I started smoking tobacco at 16, quit when I was 25. Always had sips and tastes of beer when growing up. I was 7 the first time I tasted vodka, though I didn't know it at the time. Dad had mixed it into his 7up and forgot. I asked for a drink, he handed me his cup, and I promptly spray painted the wall with it because it burned my young mouth. I never got drunk until I was 18 and in the military, where we were allowed to have beer on base. It only took a 6 pack of Miller Genuine Draft to get me sloshed. Like many in the military, getting drunk was a good way to relieve stress, but it did make going to work the next day a little difficult. I spent my first two months after I got out drunk all of the time, until that one night... yeah, one of those nights. After cleaning up the mess, I didn't get drunk for the next two years, then got completely blotto at a bachelor party. These days I can't even get drunk. Not because of any high alcohol tolerance, but because I have one maybe two drinks and I'm no longer thirsty. It'll be days or weeks before I want to have another. Very recently my doctor put me on a medication where I was told I can no longer drink. I don't find it that great of a loss.

I've done marijuana twice. I live in a legal weed state, so I decided to give it a go, see what all the fuss was about. First time I was 40, and it was an edible. The girl at the dispensary said to just eat half of one of the two brownies that came in the pack, and see how I react. I ate one whole brownie and felt nothing. A couple hours later I ate the other, still felt nothing. The brownies didn't even taste good, so that was a waste. When I was 42 I decided to try again, only this time it was a couple of pre-rolled joints. I was going on a week long camping trip, and wanted to get wasted in the woods. I set up camp, settled down with a beer and lit up. Now, I tried smoking it like I did when I smoked tobacco, just burn through the thing until you're down to the butt, and toss it. It was easier to smoke than tobacco, the smell wasn't as strong as the weed I remember kids smoking in high school, so I was enjoying that part. I got through half of it, and was kind of disappointed because I wasn't feeling anything. With tobacco, you can feel it hit right away, but I wasn't getting anything from this joint. I got halfway through it, and was bored with it. I didn't want any more, so I just let it burn out. I finished my beer, got up to pee. Grabbed another beer, and sat back down in my chair. I was sitting there for about another 10 minutes, and then it hit. I felt like I was falling backwards, and it just stayed that way. Soon enough it was like I had a 100lb lead blanket on me. I also felt the kind of buzz I used to get from tobacco, but tobacco doesn't stick with you like that. It's there and gone in a few minutes. The buzz I felt from the weed was nice, but that heavy falling sensation didn't let me enjoy it. All I could do was just sit there, and wait for it to end. The problem was it didn't end. After about an hour, even the buzz wasn't enjoyable anymore, it was annoying. I finally decided to just go sleep it off. It was really difficult to get up and move, but I got into my tent, crawled into my sleeping bag, and couldn't sleep. Not right away. Even though I felt so lethargic, I was too wired to sleep. All I could do was lay there, and wait for it to happen, which it eventually did. I woke up a few hours later, drank some water, was feeling a lot better since it was over by then. I made a sandwich, and it just tasted like any other sandwich, and I went back to bed. So as far as I'm concerned, weed sucks. It's not worth trying.
