Well, that's typical Microsoft for you.

Luckily there are open source alternatives, that are faster, better, provide more features, are stable since years, you get the picture. I personally had best experience with

But... why? What for? This decision hurts my brain.

Based on anecdotes of everyone I've seen talking about it, I'm pretty sure at this point that Notepad++ is automatically provided to all programmers when they start working. Like Bald Eagles when an American is born.

I don't like the fact you have to pay for wordpad now, the last version I owned was windows 8.1 and wordpad came free,
I'm on windows 11 and in order to use wordpad now they want money.

What? I have Wordpad on my Win10 for free.

That makes zero sense. So, probably a Microsoft CEO decision

Really? That's a dumb ass move, since alternatives like notepad++ are much MUCH better and free

The note pad is still free on windows 11, but wordpad ain't.

This is the team that did not understand the backlash of copilot and you got all the new ads in windows 11

The note pad is still free on windows 11, but wordpad ain't.

Another reason to never leave windows 10

microsoft are doing quite a few new things to notepad lately, i quite like the continue from where off and the tabs feature they've added

And the first thing I did, was disable that bullshit, man, I write in 3 languages, and that stuppig spellchecker allways has it wrong.

But that's also why I hate browsers, because it's too much work to constantly change the spellchecker language.

Then we got stupid forum-sites like twitter, where you cannot correct you text, and then get some retard who starts to correct your text. At least give me the option to correct it. Like on this site.

All I can say is it's about damn time. As I write fast and post before spellchecking sometimes. (y)
