No surprise there. Clint Eastwood simply buried the genre with his brilliant Unforgiven. After that, the only thing left to do was to shoot slag like "Cowboys vs. Aliens" (or whatever that movie was called).

Good old spagetti westerns You should check out Sergio Leone's classics - "A Fistful of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More ", "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" and the epic canvas "Once Upon a Time in the West". It's a masterpieces. The Italian made westerns of the highest quality.
