RPGM is the fucking worst (ok, a bit of hyperbole, but we are on the internet). I appreciate it for what it is and what it allows, but fuck me if it aint an annoying interface. for these type games/stories, Renpy has spoiled me with the "save anytime" feature.

I like this dev's work, but I skipped this one after 2 mins because of the interface. Looks good though.
